Notices for Sunday March 14th – Mothering Sunday

We welcome Rev Margaret Trapp who will lead our worship today

The family service will include the baptism of Charlie Knott and we welcome his family and friends who are here today

 Mothering Sunday - In Victorian times, it was a day when domestic servants were given a day off to visit their mother and family. This special day has now become a time when people young and old give thanks to their parents especially mothers, and offers an opportunity to express both love and thanks for the work that they do.

                The Baptism Service....

 We say together:

We believe in God the Father,

                         Who made the world.

                         We believe in Jesus Christ, his Son,

                         Who redeemed humankind.

                         We believe in the Holy Spirit,

                         Who gives life to the people of God.

              The candle is lit

                         Receive this light,

                         For you now belong to Christ,

                         The light of the world

                         Christ is your light and your way.

             Response

                         May you grow and live in the faith of Christ. Amen.

              We say together

                          The Lord bless you and keep you;

                         The Lord make his face shine on you

                         And be gracious to you;

                         The Lord look on you with kindness

                         And give you peace. Amen.

               Let us pray

                          Generous God,

                         Touch us again

                         With the fire of your Spirit

                         And renew in us all

                         The grace of our Baptism;

                         That we may profess the one true faith

                         And live in love and unity

                         With all who are baptized into Christ. Amen.
